2020-06-09: Update of Radiation Health Division website

The domain for Radiation Health Division website has been updated to www.rhd.gov.hk.


2020-01-30: Notice to Clients of Radiation Monitoring Service - Special arrangement on delivery of dosimeters for February 2020

Because of the special arrangement for postal services as announced by Hongkong Post on 28 January 2020, the new batch of dosimeters for February 2020 would not be delivered to end-users as scheduled. We will deliver the new batch of dosimeters as soon as possible after postal services resume normal. End-users are reminded to continue wearing their current dosimeters to record radiation doses before receiving the new batch of dosimeters.


2019-10-01:

Radiation Health Unit ("RHU") has been renamed into Radiation Health Division ("RHD") with effect from 1 October 2019. The enquiry e-mail has also been changed to rhd@dh.gov.hk.

Control of Radioactive Substances and Irradiating Apparatus

Radiation Ordinance (Cap. 303), Laws of Hong Kong, stipulates relevant controls on radioactive substances and irradiating apparatus.

The Radiation Board is established under section 3 of the Radiation Ordinance (Cap. 303, Laws of Hong Kong) to carry out functions in accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance and its subsidiary legislations.

Applications for licences to manufacture, produce, sell, deal in or with, possess or use radioactive substances or irradiating apparatus should be submitted to the Radiation Board Licensing Office.
